George Locasto is Managing Director and Head of the Convertible Arbitrage team at UBS O’Connor LLC, based in Chicago. Previously, he was Head of US Proprietary Convertible Trading at Warburg Dillon Read. Mr. Locasto has been a trader for 14 years, and has focused exclusively on convertible securities for the last eleven. Mr. Locasto’s expertise extends to equity market neutral strategies, complex derivatives trading techniques, and associated risk management. Mr. Locasto began his trading career at O’Connor & Associates after four years as tax manager at Arthur Andersen & Co. Mr. Locasto holds BS and JD degrees from Indiana University.
Alan Matsumura is a Partner and founder of Diamond Technology Partners. Beside his role as a PayNet board member, he acts as an important technical advisor to the company.
He has more than 20 years of information technology experience, with particular focus on information architectures, databases and data analysis. Mr. Matsumura has extensive experience designing databases in support of innovative e-commerce efforts. He has architected, designed and developed numerous business intelligence systems and marketing databases and has worked in a wide variety of industries including financial services, direct marketing, consumer products and services, retail and health care.
Mr. Matsumura earned a Master of Business Administration degree in accounting from Loyola University and a Master of Science degree in computer science with a concentration in data analysis and management, with distinction, from DePaul University. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Northwestern University.
Dan Michalek, a PayNet, Inc. founder, brings extensive "start up" experience to PayNet by being closely involved in several new ventures with Fortune 100 companies as well as his own commercial equipment leasing company. He is currently active in several new business ventures.
Prior to joining PayNet, Inc. as its first chairman, Dan was President of Connor Capital, division of LINC Capital Inc., which he founded in 1994, and which LINC acquired in 1999. Connor Capital specialized in the formation of captive finance companies for equipment manufacturers and distributors. From 1988 to 1994, Mr. Michalek worked for American Express, where he was Director of National Accounts and was instrumental in the launch of MoneyGram, a worldwide money transfer service. Prior to 1988, Michalek was employed by Citicorp where he led a successful start-up in Citicorp's Payment Products division. Mr. Michalek is also on the Board of Directors for Quality Control Corporation.
In 1999, Mr. Michalek was nominated for the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. He earned a BBA in Marketing from Texas Christian University.
