Founded in 1999, PayNet Inc. is headquartered in Skokie, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. The company was started to bring better tools to the small business credit market. The first tools were credit reports to replace the manual telephone call to obtain credit references for equipment lenders – a national industry representing more than $600 billion in net assets. To accomplish this required building a data repository of term debt payment experience.
Since that beginning, we have learned that the process of granting credit to small businesses is far from optimal (see Small Business Insights). We have found that our data and analytics enable our clients to dramatically improve their small business loan-originations and risk management processes (see Case Studies). These tools for approving credit applications and for the analysis and review of portfolios bring speed, insight, and consistency to the credit-granting process. PayNet has recently expanded its focus to bring this same level of excellence to bank small business loans and lines of credit.
